Woofer: ES-04 The main goal of CDT GOLD is to interpret and provide superior solutions to the acoustical situations characteristic of car audio. The devil is in the details and so is the magic. These fabulously smooth, keval mixed fabric fiberglass, and treated paper black coned beauties extract all the music and add no coloration to that sound. They start and stop on a dime for the most lucid recreation of the musical experience.From rap to rock they are on top, and the rendering of serious classical profundities is also exquisite.Utilizing a rubber edge and soft polymer dust-cap these drivers create and absorb vibratory waves with astonishing control.
Crossover: EX-560i In this model the high pass crossover is replaced with a fourth order transient-optimized design. This delivers the cleanest possible Tweeter drive. Crossover takes place at 3.7kHz 4/5 mid woofers at 3000Hz 6.5 woofers. The first order woofer crossover has a larger zobel capacitor for a lower crossover frequency to match. More than this a tapped inductor adds adjustability to this woofer crossover also. This suits different driver sizes generally.
Tweeter: DRT-26 Heres how it works. You change the Tweeter driver from silk to aluminum to titanium, what ever flavor you choose with the quick- connect patented design. Now you have introduced the possibility of choice of taste into your musical life. Each type has slightly different qualities. All are virtuous but there is a different emphasis. The Silk dome is the smoothest. Always gentle and forgiving, this Tweeter emphasizes the music and avoids noise and artifacts that may embed some source material or be characteristic of less than perfect amplifiers. Very low listening fatigue and an easy quality that puts an emphasis on the systems midrange. Back to tweeters, the Aluminum is more aggressive at retrieving fine detail. Cleaner and more revealing than the silk but more critical also. The lower end (in a Tweeter) is perhaps the lowest in distortion. The all-around choice. The Titanium is the speed demon. For those who demand the maximum air and energy the Titanium takes the top end into the violet. Very critical and revealing of high end details.
